Shree Giridhar Dham Ashram
The main center of Bhakti Marga India is Shree Giridhar Dham Ashram, located in Vrindavan. Why Vrindavan? Well, Guruji called Vrindavan “The Heart of the Universe”.
Vrindavan is a place, where stories of Radha and Krishna’s pastimes are imprinted and emanate from every corner, every tree. These stories speak of nothing else but of the eternal love relationship between the Soul (represented by Radha and the Gopis) and its Supreme Beloved (Sri Krishna). When we enter Vrindavan, we actually enter the Dham of Radharani and we experience the blessings and Grace of Divine Mother and Sri Krishna. We enter His eternal Lila and receive a chance to become part of it.
The Shree Giridhar Dham Ashram in Vrindavan was inaugurated and officially opened for the public on December 1, 2016. It is headed by Swamini Vishwamohini. To open the ashram in Vrindavan was the long-standing desire of Paramahamsa Vishwananda, as Vrindavan is very special for all the Vaishnavas. The temple is devoted to Sri Giridhari and His companion Yamuna Devi.
Even more, what makes your visit to The Ashram so extraordinary is the opportunity to experience the presence of a living, God-realised Master, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda. You’ll clearly know the value of that when you come and experience it for yourself.
Vrindavan is the land where your pride is purified; where the ego is cleansed. The more humble you are, the more the Lord reveals Himself to you.
Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda
About Sri Giridhari
Sri Giridhari is Krishna, who raised the Govardhan Hill on the little finger of His left hand to save all the inhabitants of the land of Vraj from the flood sent by Indra. Among all the Lord’s Lilas at Vraja, it is this lila that is very important for understanding the relationship between the Guru and the disciple and the need for self-surrender on the path of bhakti. Whatever adversity our mind (Indra), full of desires and limitations, brings upon us if we trust Krsna in the form of a Guru and resort to His help, He will gladly accept us under His protection. Shri Giridhari and Yamuna Devi are the main Deities of the temple and were the original Deity of Shri Giridhari Gopal, which belonged to Mirabai.
Mirabai was a famous Vaisnava Saint and she received this Deity as a gift from the wandering sannyasi, when she was about five years old, and since then she has not parted with Him. She constantly carried Him with her on her chest in a small bag, and dedicated her songs and poems to Him. A few years ago, this unique murthi was presented to Paramahamsa Visvananda during His visit to the Mirabai Museum. Swami is very much attached to Giridhari, daily serving Him and traveling with Him around the world, giving the Darshans to devotees from different countries. An exact copy of this original murthi is in the temple of Shree Giridhar Dham in Vrindavan.
Other Deities in our Temple
The other Deities in the tempe are of Lord Vishwaswarupa Narasimha, Sri Ramanuja Acharya, numerous Govardhana Shilas. Lord Vishwaswarupa Narasimha is not only a defender of the devotees, but also a remover of the invisible forces of denial and impurity. His presence helps to eliminate any negativity and purify the place.
About Swamiji & our Ashram
Paramahamsa Vishwananda is a reformer of the Vaishnava world and is actively working to reduce the boundaries between the various Vaishnava sampradayas. Therefore, Shree Giridhar Dham differs in many aspects from the other temples of Vrindavan. All the traditional Hindu festivals dedicated to different Deities, including Shivaratri and Navaratri are celebrated here, which is not usual for the majority of Vaishnava temples. It is also the only temple in Vrindavan where women are pujari along with men.
Daily at 7 am and 7 pm.
