Amid the Beauty and Silence of the Mountains

In the Himalayas, there is a special kind of silence — one that allows you to hear your true Self. This retreat is a space for deep inner immersion and self-exploration.

During the retreat, we will stay in cosy cottages with beautiful views, practise in nature, and spend time in the grounds of ancient temples and ashrams.

Meaningful connection, shared spiritual practices in the company of like-minded people, and studying the sacred scriptures through the lens of their practical application in daily life will help you go beyond the mind and reconnect with your inner stillness.

This is more than a journey — it is a return to your essence, a meeting with your true Self.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

Bhimtal and Mauni Maa Ashram — Where Your Inner Journey Begins

A peaceful mountain lake surrounded by forests and gentle hills — a place where time seems to slow down. Meditation at the ashram of Mauni Maa, who observed silence for over 60 years, creates a space for quiet focus and inner reflection. This region is associated with Bhima from the Mahabharata, who have passed through these lands during the Pandavas’ exile.

Kasar Devi — A Place of Remarkable Energy

An ancient temple in Almora where Swami Vivekananda and many seekers have meditated. Located within a rare geomagnetic zone linked to the Van Allen Belt (similar to Machu Picchu and Stonehenge), it is known for the way it naturally shifts your state of mind.

Early morning practices here help you enter a deeper meditative state, quiet the mind, and bring a sense of clarity and inner steadiness.

Mahavatar Babaji’s Cave and Pandukholi Ashram — Spiritual Practice in Sacred Mountain Sanctuaries.

A quiet ascent with japa leads to the cave of Mahavatar Babaji, connected to the lineage of Atma Kriya Yoga. Nearby lies the high-altitude Pandukholi Ashram, where the Pandavas once meditated.

Time in these places helps you step away from the outside world, feel more grounded within, and connect with a living spiritual tradition.

Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag — Sacred River Confluences

These are places where powerful Himalayan rivers merge, gradually forming the flow that becomes Ganga at Devprayag.

These confluences carry a powerful natural energy and are known for their strong spiritual energy, often associated with deep inner transformation.

Koteshwar Mahadev — Shiva’s Cave by the Alaknanda River

A unique temple located inside a natural cave on the banks of the Alaknanda River. The cave contains around 10 million naturally formed small Shiva-lingams, which gave the temple its name.

Shiva meditated here before departing for his Himalayan abode in Kedarnath.

Rishikesh and Haridwar — an Encounter with Ganga

The journey concludes in one of India’s most sacred regions. Rishikesh is the heart of yoga, where Ganga, at the foothills of the Himalayas, is especially clear, powerful, and truly captivating.

Sunrise practice at a Shakti-pith, visits to saints’ caves, and the evening Ganga-arati bring you into direct contact with a living tradition. In Haridwar — one of the holiest cities in India — Ganga is worshipped as a living deity, and this devotion is felt everywhere.

Serene Settings

During the retreat, we will be staying in comfortable cottages amidst beautiful natural surroundings. We will practise within the grounds of ancient temples and ashrams to fully absorb the atmosphere of this holy land.

GUIDES

SWAMI SHARADA

Swami received his first degree from the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Moscow State University, where he studied the languages, culture, history, and economics of South Asia. During his studies, he developed a deep interest in both Christianity and Hinduism, recognising in both traditions the same unifying principle — the teaching of unconditional love.

This profound longing for God led him to Paramahamsa Vishwananda, whom he met and accepted as his Satguru in 2011. In 2013, during the Kumbh Mela festival in India, he was initiated into the Swami order.

His way of life is dedicated to serving others and guiding people along the path of devotion to the Divine through daily prayer, Atma Kriya Yoga, rituals, and spiritual life within both modern society and a devotional community rooted in the teachings of Paramahamsa Vishwananda. He is the head of the Bhakti Marga Ashram in Latvia.

MAHASHRAYA DASI

Mahashraya Dasi is a resident of Shree Giridhar Dham Ashram in Vrindavan. She met Paramahamsa Vishwananda in 2011 and became a brahmacharini in 2015. She is also a teacher of Vedic rituals.

Since 2017, she has been organising spiritual journeys across India, travelling to many different corners of this sacred land. Through these experiences, she has continued to discover India’s extraordinary ancient culture and legends, absorbing the timeless wisdom carried by this land.

‘It is deeply precious for me to be here, and I sincerely wish to share with others what I know and love.’

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Yana B.

'In the Footsteps of Lord Rama' 2025 with Swami Sharada.

Thank you for this truly remarkable pilgrimage in the footsteps of Lord Rama.

It was not just a journey, but a deep inner experience that left a lasting impression and inspired profound reflection. Through the places, traditions, atmosphere, and your thoughtful organisation, India revealed itself in a completely unique way — alive, layered, and deeply transformative.

You created a space where it was possible not only to see, but to truly feel, experience, and connect with something real. It leaves a mark that cannot be erased.

Thank you for your care, your attention to detail, and the energy you invested in this journey. It means a lot. 🙏

Maria M.

'Sacred Himalayas' 2024 with Swami Sharada

I joined this journey almost by chance, accompanying a friend, thinking it would simply be an interesting trip to beautiful places. I could never have imagined that travelling to sacred places could be like this.

During the journey, however, I had such a profound spiritual experience that it feels as though my entire focus shifted towards a deeper spiritual search — to the point where even the beauty of the Himalayas faded into the background.

And now, with an open heart, I find myself standing at the threshold of a completely new path in life.
